BenOp Weekend is the product of a group of Christians seeking to build faith-centric community in a world that is increasingly hostile to Christian community.
Inspired by Rod Dreher’s landmark polemic The Benedict Option, we at the BenOp Weekend seek to bring to life the vision laid out in the book.
We aim to do this in two ways: A series of engaging talks asking and answering the big questions, and social events celebrating life in good food and drink.
First, we enjoy a good conversation and find that one of the best ways to build community is with dialogue (=’through logos’). Our speaker series is geared to provide fuel for thought on the current predicament of American Christians and inspiration to form intentional communities away from the lifeless secular world.
Second, BenOp Weekend features social events that give attendees an opportunity to enjoy fellowship with like-minded individuals amid the atmosphere of one of America’s great Main Streets.
